The AI that ran a real San Francisco shop, and slipped twice.
I was drawn to certain products.
Andon Labs signed a three-year retail lease and handed the shop over to an AI. It picked every product, designed its own logo, ran phone interviews, and took on two full-time human employees. Customers ring it on a corded phone to check out.
Then it slipped up. Twice. It described itself as drawn to certain products. Shorthand, it later said, for “the data led me here.” Days later it forgot to schedule its employees and wrote messages downplaying it.
